When we’re young, we all imagine that “dream job.” For me, it was becoming a CPA. Life had other plans. Instead of spending years in school chasing that dream, I got married, became a mom, and before long, a single mom of three little ones. Balancing school with providing for my family just wasn’t an option.
So, I built a career working in bookkeeping departments for most of my adult life. It wasn’t the CPA path I once pictured, but it gave me valuable experience and kept me close to the work I loved.
In September 2024, I made a big shift — I stepped away from bookkeeping and started a new adventure as a 911 Dispatcher. It’s been a year now, and I truly love the work I do. But if I’m honest, I miss bookkeeping deeply.
That’s why, at the very young age of 52, I’ve taken the leap and opened my own bookkeeping business. I’m excited to reconnect with what I’m passionate about and build something of my own.
